Event at Home

I am selling Fashion Jewelry, started a year ago. I was in Brazil last year and decide to bring couple pieces to sell here, it was a huge success, people loved the styles and the price range. They loved because is very unique and different, pieces that we cant find over here.

So I host events in my house couple times a year, now I am starting a website to sell online Evillah Fashion Jewelry

This past Wednesday I hosted a brunch.

Here are some pictures of the event.

On love with my red shirt dress from Nordstrom online.

Pippin Hill Winery

Sunday we had family in town and we wanted to to take them to our favorite Winery in VA. So we went to Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. Got there around 1pm, the wait wasn’t that long, so we bought a bottle of wine and in less than 15min. our table was ready. The weather was beautiful, we all enjoy a wonderful lunch and a walk outside to enjoy the beautiful views and the sunny day.

My Outfit: Purse Dolce & Gabbana, T-Shirt is October pink from Saks Fifth Avenue, T-shirt designed by Carolina Herrera, Boots Adrianne Vittadini, Skirt Forever 21, Jewelries Evillah Fashion JewelryHermesGraziela Gems.

My outfit tip here: The skirt was a good deal I found at Forever 21 months ago, I love good deals, when I found something I like I just buy it, even better when is a good price, so no need to be thinking too much, so it is a easy and fashion piece to have in your closet, you can dress up or down. On Sunday I want some casual but stylish look, and it is fall, so I wore my the knee, suede little heels boots, a jeans jacket that I simply love to wear with everything, and of course my pink t-shirt. This same skirt I could wear with high heels and a nice top and would be fancy and dressy to go out for dinner or a cocktail party. when you are shopping, keep an eye for a key piece that you can wear many times with different looks and different seasons.

Charleston, SC

We love going to Charleston, SC. It is such a charming city with lots to do and see.  We have been there twice in the last 2 months. It is a 6 hours drive from Richmond, Virginia. Perfect for a long weekend trip.

Where to stay: Hyatt Place Charleston/Historic District, great location with lots of room at a great price. If you have more time, like a week you should rent a house on Sullivan’s Island.  Of course, there are many other charming hotels and B&Bs.

Sullivan’s Island  is 9 mile drive from the hotel in Charleston.  I recommend going to the station between 27 and 30, they have amazing natural pool when the tide is low, the kids love it.  Please make sure you bring chairs, umbrellas and snacks; so you can enjoy more than a couple hours there.  We are planning to rent a house there next summer.

Restaurants: Magnolias is upscale, southern cuisine, for an amazing meal.  I wore my xxx dress for the night.  I used Evillah Fashion Jewelry accessories.  The earrings were perfect to reflect the green hues of the Palmetto state and pearl textures of the Southern Atlantic.  You can buy them on my site at www.evillah.com. This created a great look for the night for our southern charm with meticulous fare.

Xiao Bao Biscuit,  Asian Soul Food, what a phenomenal combination with dishes from China, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand and Korea. They don’t take reservations, so we usually arrive there for an early dinner around 6pm or so.

Husk, another great Southern jewel of a restaurant in Charleston.  The food was amazing, but it is kind of a noisy place due to the southern colonial architecture. I recommend making reservations.

Leon’s, is a great, fun place to eat.  We went there for lunch, no reservation, so we had to wait 20-30 minutes, but we didn’t mind because I was enjoying my Rose wine slushie.  It was perfect for a warm summer day!

Poe’s Tavern, in Sullivan’s Island, has a cool, beach town atmosphere.  It is casual and charming with great food, and the perfect spot for lunch after the beach.

Places to visit:  Charleston City Market, local city market, with lots of souvenirs, handmade products, fine art, crafts… and we love to eat at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit.

Boone Hall plantation, beautiful place to visit and learn more about rice plantations in the area. We loved the house tour and the history lessons of Slave History in America.  The tickets prices are $24.00 adults and $12.00 for kids 6-12, kids under 5 are free.

The house

Waterfront Park, won the Landmark Award from the American Society of landscape Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  It is a great spot to walk around and take a moment to relax.

Rainbow Row, a iconic view of Charleston,  a street full of beautiful pastel colored buildings.  It is worth walking down the street seeing the unique coloring and style of the buildings.

Dessert Places: Jeni’s Ice Cream, located on King street, is walking distance from our Hotel (Hyatt Place Charleston).  It is too hard to decide on the flavors, so many yummy options. Don’t forget to order the buttercrisp waffle cone, it is to die for…

Glazed Gourmet, across the street from our hotel is a delicious donut place to supplement your weekend breakfast.  Who doesn’t love doughnuts with coffee?  They have some crazy doughnuts recipes and unconventional flavors.

Impossible to choose just one.

Animal Print

I am so happy animal prints are back, actually for me it is always in fashion. My closet looks like a zoo (literally!).  It is absolutely elegant and glamorous, a real classic look.  The animal print accent can be with your clothes or the accessories themselves, it can make a simple look a create a lively statement.

Here are few looks with animal prints I have worn from the past.  Some pieces I have for couple years, so that shows that animal print is an investment to have in your closet.

I have this pants for over 5 years and still fashion.
The charming of adding an accessory to the look to break the monochromatic look.
Love this silk leopard body.
Animal print on my flat shoes.
Bought this skirt couple weeks ago from Nordstrom.
This dress I also have for couple years now. I always wear it with different accessories.

Humpback Rock, VA

Guess why I love this region: so many places to go, you drive for an hour or so and you have a lot of beautiful places to visit. Yesterday, we drove 1 hour and a half to get to Humpback Park. We parked our car at the national park office and quickly started to hike 1.5 mile to get to Humpback Rock.  What a view! When we reached on the top of the mountains, we sat on the rocks, relaxed, and took in the view, so peaceful.  We were fortunate that we were at the edge of a cloud trying to fight it way past the peak but struggling to avoid the burn of the warm October sun.

We brought a backpack with some snacks and water, and we snacked on the top of the mountain. The way back was easier going down the 1.5 miles. Here are some pictures:

After hiking, we drove 10 minutes to Blue Mountain Brewery, a great place for beer and food. The weather was perfect, great way to spend Saturday with family.  There were also celebrating Oktoberfest, so there were additional German style entrees.

Devils Backbone Brewing Company

Another brewery outside of RVA that we love going to is Devils Backbone. During January thru March, every time we go to Wintergreen, a mountain retreat where we take the kids  for skiing, we stop at DB on our way back home. They have great craft beer and a pub menu specialized in oak wood-fired smoked dishes and local fare.

While we wait for our table for dinner we enjoy our beer around the fire pit.

Winter weekends need a comfy, casual look, that feels warm but is very fashionable.  Michael Kors, boots Globalwin from Amazon, sunglasses Fendi

The Veil Brewing Co.

We have a lot of great breweries in VA, especially around Richmond and Charlottesville.  They are so close by and fantastic to visit.

The Veil Brewing Co. it is a craft brewery located in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood of Richmond,VA.  My favorite beer is the Double PB Hornswoggler, robust chocolate milk stout with a double treatment of Reginald’s Homemade Peanut Butter.  It is very creamy and tasty, not too bitter.

They always have food trucks there as well, so you can grab a bite while you enjoy the all the wonderful beers. It is kid and pet friendly, lot’s of dogs!

Another mix smart moderate price items and luxury items for my outfit.  The sunglasses are  Fendi, and the dress is from TJMaxx, while the purse is purse is Valentino.

Organizing Tips

I am freak about organizing, every  month or so I reorganize something in the house, either in my closet, my husband’s clothes, the kids’ closet, kitchen drawers….

Today’s post is about my closet.  I have a lot of scarves, and it was a bit cumbersome to peruse and accent my outfit for the day because of the way they were organized.  They were simply folded and stacked on top of each other.  So every time I went to pull one out, all the others become disheveled. So I went to Target and found these great plastic containers with drawers. Now it is much easier to see, grab, and avoid making a mess every time.  This was a very simple fix to an annoying problem.
